Opponents of the proposal include the Alaska Municipal League, Association of Alaska School Boards and the Municipality of Anchorage, and say the proposal is ripe for abuse and frivolous complaints that could discourage Alaskans from running for local office or volunteering for boards and commissions. If Senate Bill 15 becomes law, anyone could file a complaint with the Alaska Public Offices Commission, alleging that a public official had violated the state’s Open Meetings Act. The commission is required to investigate the complaint, and if commissioners agree that the complaint is valid, the official could be fined up to $1,000.

LAHORE: Chief Minister Usman Buzdar on Tuesday visited Corona Vaccination Centre set up at Expo Centre and observed the process of giving vaccination to elderly citizens.
He also reviewed the facilities being provided to the senior citizens who came for vaccination. He also talked to the health workers who were administered the vaccine there and lauded their services. Usman Buzdar also inquired after the aged citizens and asked them about the facilities available for them at the Expo Centre.
They expressed their satisfaction over the facilities being provided to them and said that the Punjab government has made the best arrangements over there. Usman Buzdar said that the first phase of administering vaccine to elderly citizens besides health workers has been started.

PESHAWAR: The death of the grade-7 student in the lock up in the provincial capital has highlighted the need for real and solid reforms at the police station level to ensure basic human rights and respect of every citizen.
An upward trend has been witnessed in complaints of violation of basic human rights of the citizens in custody, during raids and at some checkpoints of police and other law-enforcement agencies across the country.
Many have also complained of being insulted by the cops and personnel of other forces during their interaction with the public in recent years.
